Odoo Studio, changes that survive upgrades.
Studio adds fields, edits views, designs reports and builds automation rules inside Odoo without code, which suits the small changes every company needs. We use it for low-risk work and write anything with real business logic as a proper module, so your Odoo 20 database upgrades cleanly.
What Odoo Studio does
The standard 20 Enterprise feature set we configure, train on and support.
Fields and views
Drag and drop fields of any type, including selections, related fields and links to other records, onto form, list, kanban, calendar, pivot, graph and map views.
New apps and models
Simple apps built from scratch, such as an asset register or a permit log, with their own menu, views, chatter, access rights and stages.
Report editor
Edit PDF reports such as quotations, invoices and delivery notes by adding fields, tables, text and images, or start a new report from a blank layout.
Automation rules
Automation rules that trigger on create, update, a date or a stage change, then send email, create activities, update fields or call a webhook.
Approval rules on buttons
Approval rules on any action button, so confirming an order or validating a document needs a named user or group to approve it first.
Access and filters
Field visibility and edit rights by user group, default values, custom filters and group-by options, and menus rearranged per app for each team.
Configured for Kuwait, the GCC and Egypt
The local rules we set up and keep current for Odoo Studio, so the system matches the regulator and the way people here work.
Why an Official Odoo Partner matters- Arabic labels and layoutsField labels, selection values and menus translated into Arabic, and report layouts adjusted for right-to-left text, Arabic fonts and bilingual headers on the same page.
- Local identifiersFields for Kuwait civil ID, Saudi iqama and commercial registration numbers with their expiry dates on contacts and employees, plus automation rules that remind HR before renewal.
- ZATCA-safe invoice changesSaudi invoice layouts must keep the mandatory ZATCA fields and QR code, so we limit Studio edits on those reports and test every change in the ZATCA sandbox before go-live.
What IT Horizon adds on top of Odoo Studio
Modules and services we built from real Gulf implementations, written to Odoo guidelines so they upgrade with the platform.
Low-risk changes in Studio
We use Studio for fields, views, report tweaks and simple automation rules, and document each change so your team knows what was customized and why.
Proper modules for logic
Calculations, integrations, posting logic and multi-step workflows are written as Python modules to Odoo guidelines, under version control and tested, so each upgrade stays clean.
Studio review before upgrades
Before an upgrade we export and review the Studio customizations, move anything fragile into a module and remove fields nobody uses.
Training as a Learning Partner
As an Official Odoo Learning Partner we train your administrators to use Studio safely, including which changes to leave to a developer.
Works with
Odoo apps share one database, so Studio exchanges data with these apps without connectors.
Questions, answered.
For small changes, Studio is the quickest route: a field, a column, a report tweak. It comes with the Odoo Custom plan, which is also the plan that allows custom modules on Odoo.sh or your own server for larger changes with business logic.
Simple fields and view changes usually carry over, since Odoo migrates Studio customizations during the upgrade. Heavy overrides of screens that change between versions and automation rules with code are the usual problems, so we keep those in modules and test each upgrade on a copy first.
It can build simple apps with their own records, views, stages and access rights, such as a permit log or a vehicle pass register. Once the app needs calculations, integrations or accounting entries, we write it as a module instead.
Yes. Studio exports all customizations as a module file you can keep in version control or import into another database. We use the export to review changes and to move a tested setup from staging to production.
Yes. The report editor handles Arabic text and right-to-left layout, and you can place Arabic and English labels side by side. For invoices that must stay ZATCA compliant, we change only the parts outside the mandatory fields and QR code.
Customize Odoo the safe way and keep upgrades clean.
Tell us the changes your team keeps asking for, and we will sort them into Studio work and module work.
